Yoga Skills for Youth
Facilitators Training (Phase One)
Learn to facilitate engaging, effective yoga classes for youth.
For yoga teachers, school teachers, therapists, parents, and individuals interested in working with youth and school communities to make peace through yoga.
In this 20-hour experiential training course, you will learn:
· Developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
· Methods for organizing a harmonious class environment.
· Skills for building relationships with school communities.
· Ways of skillfully conducting democratic education.
· Techniques to guide youth in accessing their innate wisdom.
· Insightful processes to engage youth in peacemaking.
· Critical tactics for addressing issues of diversity.
· Systems for developing social and emotional wellness.
Participants will learn an organized system for creating curriculum to meet the unique needs of individual youth and youth groups.
This course will address how to effectively teach yoga to youth in relevant language.
Instructor: Abby Wills, MA, ERYT,
Abby shares more than twelve years of experience teaching youth and teachers in yoga studios and schools. She serves as Program Director for Shanti Generation, an organization she co-founded to bring the transformational practice of yoga to youth and school communities. Currently, Abby is on faculty at New Roads Middle School and The Walther School, pre-school. In addition to on-going exploration and practice of yogic systems, Abby’s teachings are informed by graduate studies in Developmental Education at Pacific Oaks College. Most recently, Abby collaborated with WSR Creative to produce an innovative DVD program called Yoga Skills for Youth Peacemakers.

Well this is an interesting post. I am going to connect this experience tonight from the chapter “Mayan Mystery School” on Goddesses & Angels. Doreen Virtue‘s book was the first book of spiritual books that I had read that I carried with me and always reminded myself of things she said in the book “The Lightworkers Way” I was immediately interested in her teachings of angels and Indigo and Crystal children. I couldn’t ever really feel I was part of either, though I have recognized characteristics in nieces and nephews of mine. Its not an easy topic with family, some it is, some it isn’t, some read about it, and don’t apply it, which is where I get caught in the middle. I love the movie Indigo, its a good movie to present to those that are open to learning about Indigo and Crystal and Rainbow children.
My heart truely opened up to it last year and this year, as I experienced with neighbor’s kids always becoming interested in coming to see me. I had to move, I had a struggle with a lot of male energy and I needed to go back home to ground. The kids helped me heal over a lot though & I expressed gratitude to them for giving light at a place that was dark for me at the time.
I experienced a lot in Arizona, so much that my heart still considers it my home, and even moreso as I have shared a beautiful connection with my friend’s daughters. I would like to call him my boyfriend but he and I have chosen to stay life partners so I don’t hold back from what I am meant to experience, so he is actually more than a boyfriend, he is my soulmate! His daughter talks to me like she has known about me for years! Its incredible. I have been back home and I am antsy, I am ready to experience and share what light I do have to make a difference.
Had a beautiful experience with music, and it inspired me to know that I can touch many and I acknowledge the experience and now I want to express the gratitude from all of it.
This post is kind of circular as far as what comes first, it all came from the same source. One day, in Chandler, I went to the movie “Timewave 2013” with my friend, we had attended Law of Attraction classes together. I have also attended Flower of Life workshops, there was information in the movie that reminded me of The Flower of Life. That night, I received contact information from
Asha Gayle Dieleman, a Yoga teacher, and she discussed wanting me to help her with her website to provide information on teaching Yoga. The website is no longer up, but I do have a graphic I worked on for her. I attracted work for her from a graphic I did at school, really the only work I have gotten since school, has been related to spirituality.
The graphic I did was a flower of life icon over a dolphin in the cosmic sky.
The work done for Yokhah Maya, I featured the logo on my website, as I started to have a theme of spiritual design.
A few years later and I am discovering Twitter for the first time and I started to interact with my favorite band 311, who is all about positivity and I even did homework in high school one year of a cut out of a shiva that was featured in artwork of theirs and I used dragons from one of their designs for a poster. I am not sure where I got the shiva, I know it was from a poster I had.
Here is the dragon though, I utilized the dragon from this poster, and this was when I was like 16 or 17, I did it in art class. Teachers took a lot of the art, I don’t have much left from my moves, but this atleast brings the memory to life again.
I noticed there was a blog post on 311′s site about P-Nut the bass player, featuring his music on a Yoga DVD to teach children Yoga, Shanti Generation
featuring his wife, Abby Wills.
I received a lot of love from both him and Abby in a postcard, thanking me for all of the support as I was helping promote online. I have a scanner so I will share the photo here of the postcard. I also received an autographed copy of Uplifter from P-Nut.
this blog will be continued later, this laptop is burning my lap. Lots more to come though!

An Update
So that post I did, rings very true. 311 gave me a lot of hope, it has increased an enormous amount this year.
I have a lot to update on here, stay tuned to photos from my San Fran trip, thanks to Shanti Generation, Abby Wills and Aaron Wills. It was my first time in San Fran and the first time I met P-Nut! It was a beautiful show, a beautiful experience.
When I returned from California, I started to help out my friend’s band as well and was involved in taking footage of band rehearsal and recording shows with an hd flipcam. Which has lead to a connection with Stella Katsoudas and Shaw Crahan.
Music has been a big theme in my life, and lately so has bonding with children, so I am actually taking my first train ride to Louisiana to train for Shanti Generation June 11-June 14th. I plan on doing a lot of reflecting on the ride. Mind you this blog is just a brief summary. I have a hard time writing just a few words though.
I feel I have a lot to express though. Some in words and the rest in photos. I broke down and I bought a scanner, so I can share photos that I have had in a frame. I can also share my flip photos. Its fun being Molly311 because I always feel like 3 people at once, I have been involved with my friend Stella’s career since the age 14, I am now 28.
I am looking forward to connecting with kids, and sharing Yoga with schools and applying the beautiful love that I received from music, from bands, from California, from 311, everything lately has been very synchronistic that I have been reflecting and thinking how I can put it all on a blog and explain how intense it has been.
I actually wanted to organize my blog into chakras and start there. Just as my apartment is starting to be organized by color.
I have a lot of stories to tell, one starting with surviving a near death experience, being back here to tell the story, tell the story of the angel my Mother was and is, I want to share photos, I want to share how very much the person she was and is, is what I wanted to be and that is a task because she was always extending herself out to many and thats why I feel learning to reach out to children, teaching yoga, teaching peace, giving the gift of love to those that want to share it and make life the way it should be. At the age 13, I wish I would have known about yoga, it seems much more rewarding to do all the inner work than just talking about something, to actually connect and align and recognize yourself more, is important. Its become clearer to me, I have gone through many many stages, many spiritual stages, stages of offering advice and not taking it on my own, reading spiritual books and understanding what I read but not understanding how to apply, as I only know how to apply from personal experience.
I am quite excited about this summer. I am excited about a lot of things, for the first time in a long time, so I want to give thanks now to the lovely beings of light that have reached out to me and shown me a path of meaning and purpose. Lately it has felt like things were spelled out to me long ago, but I was still evolving, in order to be where I am now to acknowledge, and I am forever grateful.
With that said….this is just a sample of how it sounds in words, the photos express so much beauty. Now, wordpress, do you work with iPhoto?
